Holy cow...that's hail! this is an example of what very large hail can do to your home or business. The photos show damage caused by 1-1/2 to 3 inch hail and is the more extreme end of the hail scale. Smaller hail with less noticeable damage is still damage and lessens the value and life of the property. These were from the April 2003 St Louis storm.

The dimples in the shingles above are exposed inner shingle material after the impact has removed the protective outer granules. the suns UV rays will destroy the rest of the shingle if not replaced. Smaller less noticeable dimples will also cause shingle destruction.
